About Us

Baker making bread

Family is at the core of our business, we bake with love and hope that our local community can taste that in the food they purchase from us. Richardson’s started out as a hobby in the family kitchen, selling at a stall in Lewisham Market on the weekends.

We sell freshly made traditional bakery products, baked on site and crafted with the utmost care. You can choose to sit in or take it away. We are just 2 minutes walk away from a lovely park in the heart of Charlton and in summer it's a great place to take your food and enjoy the green open space.

Meet The Team

Jackson and Sophia

Owner and Manager

“My parents founded the business in 1986 where they quickly stole the hearts of Charlton village. My dad loved baking long before opening the shop, I’m an only child so I grew up with all my parents’ baking experiments tested on me. We love the community spirit here and have found that my parents’ customers still shop here all these years later.”

Bakery Assistant

“I’ve grown up here and it’s pretty much like my second home! I remember when my grandparents were still running the place back when I was little. I work here part time after college, serving customers and helping out with the baking when I can. We’re well known among the locals as word of mouth spreads easily.”

Lead Baker

“I’ve been working with the Richardson’s for 8 years now and wouldn’t have it any other way. Whilst the early starts can sometimes be tough, it is a very rewarding job and I soon warm up when I get stuck into working the dough and baking!”
